                          SET ONE

{ACTIONS REVEALS AN OLD MAN ON THE INNERMOST STAGE TALKING WHY AN ANGEL KEEP RESPONDING TO HIS ACTIONS}

 

OLDMAN: WHAT A PITY! SON OF MAN {KNODDING HIS HEAD WHY HE MENTAIN A SHORT PAUSE}.      

                    SHOUT IT ALOUD! ! {FACING THE ANGEL BESIDE HIM} DO NOT HOLD BACK. RAISE YOUR

                   VOICE LIKE A TRUMPET. DECLARE TO MY PEOLPLE THEIR REBELLION AND TO THE HOUSE

                   OF JACOB THEIR SINS. FOR DAY AFTER DAY THEY SEEK ME OUT; THEY SEEM EAGER TO

                   KNOW MY WAYS, AS IF THEY WERE A NATION THAT DOES WHAT IS RIGHT AND HAS NOT

                   FORSAKEN THE COMMANDS OF ITS GOD.THEY ASKED ME FOR JUST DECISIONS AND SEEM

                   EAGER FOR GOD TO COME NEAR THEM. {ISAIAH 58:1-2}. DO NOT HOLD BACK I SAID, GO!

                     BUT MY GOD I PLAYED MY PARTS, ONLY TO DISCORVER YOU LEFT YOURS UNPLAYED.

                     FROM SEEKING THY FACE, BUT UPON ALL, NO RESPONSE.PRAYER UPON PRAYER LORD,

                     BUT ALL WITHOUT ANSWEAR WHY MY GOD…{BURST INTO TEARS}.

 

ANGEL :    SURELY THE ARM OF THE LORD IS NOT TOO SHORT TO SAVE, NOR HIS EAR TOO DULL TO

                   HEAR. BUT YOUR SINS HAVE HIDDEN HIS FACE FROM YOU. SO THAT HE WILL NOT HEAR.

                   FOR YOUR HANDS ARE STAINED WITH BLOOD, YOUR FINGER WITH GUILT. YOUR LIPS 

                   HAVE SPOKEN LIES, AND YOUR TONGUES MUTTERS WICKED THINGS. NO ONE CALL FOR

                   JUSTICE; NO ONE PLEADS HIS CASE WITH INTEGRITY.

                   THEY RELY ON EMPTY ARGUMENTS AND SPEAK LIES “WITH THE HOPE OF PRESENTING

                   THERE CASE BEFORE ME. {ISAIAH 51:21}.”THEY CONCIEVE TROUBLE AND GIVE BIRTH TO

                   EVIL…{ISAIAH 59:1-4}. IT IS YOUR SIN O’ SON OF MAN! TRIALS AND DIFFICULTIES

                   BESETTED YOU ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR SINS. OH! ALOTS OF UPS AND DOWNS JUST AS A

                   RESULT OF YOUR SINS..HUN! CHECK OUT YOURSELF, YOUR SINS ARE BEFORE Y.O.U…

SCENE ONE

(Light reveals to empty stage, we hard Rotimi voice from the back stage).

Rotimi: I said leave my house (shouting and pushing him out).

Bro. Tola: But Sir, Jesu feran yin ……. Cut in

SCENE TWO

(Light reveals to Betty and Caro discussing about Rotim)

Betty: Wo mo tin date bobo kan unsin, in fact omo ni.

Betty: Common Caro, farare bale ma gist e (she stood up) To ba r bobo yi, ah! Wagba pe omo tan sibe. Se ti iduro e lasan ni, abi ta won authentic to manju wo. Cacro maje hun soro ju, o bo wa pick me any time from now. Wari.

Caro: Hun hun, okay o (dusting powder) A knock from the door.

Betty: Yes, come in.

Rotimi: Hello Baba.

Betty: Ah Roti welcome (she huge him)

Rotimi: Omo sowa pa

Betty: Mo wa okay, meet my friend Caro.

Rotimi: Hello Caro, is my pleasure (shaking her)

Caro: Hi!

Rotimi: Shall we leave, Betty?

Rotimi: Caro so take care of yourself.

Caro: Okay bye. Hun God make I too get my oooo

SCENE THREE

(Light reveals to Dele, Bimpe and Tola prayng for Rotimi).

Bimpe: Ah! A o tun gbadura pe ki Oluwa fi okan awon unbeliever lewa lowo. Adura (they pick it up).

Dele: In Jesus name we have prayed. (He raise a song). Ologun loluwa!! Jehovah nissa ……. Amen. A o tun lo gba adura pe ki Oluwa ki o gba okan arakunrin Rotimi la lowo ewu ese. Adura.

Tola: In Jesus name we have prayed. Baba ni oruko Jesu, ni oruko nla ti Jesu, Oluwa adupe fun anfani miran bi eyi, Baba e gba ope wa. Oluwa e gba iyin wa. Oluwa awa gbadura wipe ki e tu broad Rotimi sile lowo ese, Oluwa esi won loju emi. Adupe nitori wipe adura wa ti ditewo gba …… cut out.

SCENE FOUR

(Light reveals to the gate of Hell. We see an angel standing

opposite the devil before the gate)

Angle: Kuro lodo mi, toripe o ye fun ile ologo.

Bakunle: Ah, ah, kilode, mo se ohun toto nile aiye, mofi owo ati oro mi mon talaka niti anu sise koda mo fi owo mi ko le Oluwa, ati pe idamewa mi n lo dede, m kosi salai ma bawon da owo ore abe iwasu. Mi ki pa ilejosin je, kilo tunwa ku mi ku.

Angel: Pelu gbogbo awon awijare wony, o ye fun ile ologo o o.

Rotimi: (He appear with surprise) ah, ah, iranse Olorun, ika moni o, laduru gbogbo iserere ti arakunrin yi kakale, otun wa ni ko ye fun ile ologo. Owu, Olorun gan ko roro tobyun abi! Baba esi dasi.

Baba: Beni, otito lokuru so. Sugbon, gbogbo ise ribiribi tokakale yi asan lonje, bohun gan tikalare o ba ti deni igbala kuro ninu ese.

Lotito mofi isere mon Oluwa, sugbon ko fi okan re mon. Fun idi eyi, kolipin ninu ile ologo to fe wo yi. (pointing to the devil) orun apadi ni ipin re.

Rotimi: Ah! Baba, tawa loni okure ba yi.

Baba: Hun (shaking his head) wo eleru ti setan ati gberu re.

Rotimi: Ah! Baba, won o si salu fun mi.

Baba: Anu abi kilo pe, ko sanu nikorita ti awa yi mon, toripe otiku. Be sini ati filele ninu iwe mimo pe leyin iku idajo lokan.

Rotimi: Ah! Idajo.

Baba: Tawa gan loni oku tire gan bayi?

Rotimi: (Looking with surprise) . . . . cut out. Light fade.

SCENE FIVE

(Light reveals to Rotimi coming out to the stage and thinking about the dream)

Rotimi: Ah iru awon ala buruku wo n mo wan la lelu jometa yi nan? Talo noku mi, this is terrible, abi, I don’t understand (he move towards the curtain).

Dele: Broda mi, oto ni, talo ni oku yin pelu gbo awon iwa ti en wu won yi. (se move closer to him) broad mi sebi lati gba ti mon mi ti salaisi, ni iwa yin ti yato. Broad mi adara beba le jawo kuro ninu awon iwa wonyi tesi fayeyin fun Jesu …. Cut in.

Rotimi: (he slap her) keep short, (he goes in)

Dele: (crying) Oluwa, Oluwa gba broda mi la kuro ninu ese.

SCENE SIX

(Light reveals to Dele and Tola in Tola’s house).

Tola: Ah, Oga o.

Dele: Bo ti ri ni ye o bro Tola (she started crying)

Tola: Sis. Dele, otito, e ma sukun mon, adura loro won nilo bay. Olorun tofi revelation ye han won, atun fi omiran tolagbara han won leyi ti o bawon leru to be gee, tanfi jowo aiye won fun Kristi. Dandan n k’Olorun yi aiye won pada tori Olorun wa o fe ku elese, af koronu piwada. Oluwa a se mo mon.

Dele: Amen.

Tola: Kristi ma gba gbogbo ogo lori aiye won. Eje ka gbadura … cut out.

SCENE SEVEN

(Light reveals to Rotimi and Caro coming from back stage, then Betty came in).

Betty: What Caro? Rotimi ki … ki …… so Rotimi ah!

Rotimi: You see …… Betty …. Let me …….. let (cut in).

Betty: Keep short, you think you can use me and dump me abi ah Rotimi mayo eleyi. Ma foju re ri (light fade).

                                    SCENE EIGHT

(Light reveals to Hell fire where we see a lot of people crying

and telling other what brought them to hell).

Shola: Seb emi ati boy friend mi lalo si party amu oniruru oti be lasi jo si oniruru orin, ibe ni iya nla kan ti be sile nitori mi, kato wi katofo iku t wole oti mu mi lo … ni …. Ni moba bara mi ni bi (crying). They all cry again.

Wale: Nigba ti abere ipejo po awon omo Olorun ni secondary school ni won ba yan mi ni Treasurer. Iya mi o lowo be ni baba mi o ni lati fi sawon idanwo third term mi, se ni mo ya lara owo ti won ko si mi lowo bi Treasurer lati fi san owo ile iwe mi laiso fun eni kankan tori itiju. Lotito ni mo pinu ati da pada ni kete ti moba ri. Sa dede ni aisan nla kan dami dubule ti mi o si ni ore ofe ati san owo nan tabi so fun enikeni titi olojo fide. Afi ti mo ba ra mi ni bi (crying).

Tayo: Ah! Egba mi, mi o mon o, nba ti ba ore mi yan odi lati igba ti moti wani JSS 1 ni moti fi aye mi fun Jesu ti mo si ti datunbi, sugbon sa ti mo de SS3 ni ore mi kan fesun ohun ti mi o se kan mi, oni pe ohun rimi ti moun gbe expo ninu idanwo SSCE ti a se tan, ey lomulu be m nitori pe idoju ti loje fun mi ti mo si pinu pe hun oni dasi mon, ah! Gbenga: Ye, moti gbe egba mi o! un oro pastor sosi wa ni emi ati awon ore mi pejo po ta n so, ati awon ti mo mon ri towase ati awon ohun ti mi ki ri li mon so jade latari ati so asodun, ah sadede ni waya ilan ori ope ta duro si ja tosi bole minori, bi mo se barami nibi nun o. (cryng) they all pick it all).

Mama: Mi o mon, mi o mon o (crying) pe bi yio seri ni o mi ba ti atun se. Mo yan ale, mo jo run nina, koda oniruru ose ati perfumu aboni lawo nimo man lo. Ni owuro odun ku ola ni mo ba iya egbe ile mi ja ti mo si se oniruru epe fun nitori omipipon lay mon pe ori mi ni yio ti pada walo ja bi ase ko rawa sinu oko emi ati omo mi ta unlo sile odun, arin aginju ni oko wa ti gbana je, ti emi ati omo mi kansoso si ba rawa nibi (pointing to the son) crying.

Son: Crying ….. ah, se bi iya mi logbe mi de bi, gbogbo igba to ba ba awon ara adugbo ja, ni yio timi pe kilo mon sepe fun won kn si mon yan won lodi.                                           SCENE NINE

(Light reveals to Rotimi confuse because of the dream).

Rotimi: Ah! Oluwa mi o fe pari aiye mi sibi ekun ati ipayin keke yi …. Ah tani yio gba mi bayi? Dele, Dele (raise up to check her in but could not find him) ah Oluwa gba mi abi (he hard a knock and Betty with two boys came in).

Betty: Rotimi, Rotimi, ki lode ton sunkun? (she move closer as if she want to comfort her).

Rotimi: Ah Betty mi ofe pari aiye mi sib iparun.

Betty: (she laugh) Rotimi, o lo option, wo awon ore re (pointing at the two boys holding guns).

Rotimi: Ah Betty (he was frightened) jo maje kin pari aiye mi bayi. Wo gbogbo to ba ni kin se ma se, I will do everything for you sake.

Betty: O mean e! okay! Oka!! Ki ni opa iwo ati Caro po?

Rotimi: Ah! Before man and God kosi ohun kankan larin wa. So ri ija temi ati e ja ni the other time yen, ohun lo wa bami fun pe kemi ati e ka pari e.

Betty: Okay! Did you still love me? Abi ofe mi mon?

Rotimi: Betty, with all my heart, mo fe o (he move closer to her).

Betty: (she pause) okay (laying hand on his shoulder) we shall see tomorrow. (she take some steps and look back to shoot him down).

Light fade.

LIGHT FADE

(Light reveals to Rotimi at the gate)

Rotimi: Ah, nibo ni mo wa yi?

Angel: Kabo, ku irin osu ku ise ninu aiye. Ati fun o ni opolopo anfani lati fifun o, aimonye iran igba ikeyin lati fi han o, sugbon oseni lanupe, leke gbogbo re o ko lati jewo Jesu ni Oluwa re.

Rotimi: Sugbon mo je wo, mo je wo niwon ba eyi ti mo mon. mi ori eni tomi sona ni unba ku se ju bi moti se lo.

Angel: Awawi o si niwaju ite idajo, toripe ojo tipe tan tin so fun o ni bayi, Olorun oga ogo ko loni oku re o o.

Voice: Kuro lo do mi …. Iwo oni se ese, emi o moo riiiiiiiiiiii.

(The devil came and take him away).
